Because of Jeremy’s job, sometimes holidays don’t really matter. He usually ends up working on New Year’s Eve, 4th of July, etc. But, this year, he ended up being off. I figured we would celebrate ~ 6 year old style.
I’m so glad we did! I was amazed at all the great ideas there are out there… again, I love Pinterest!! It is the best resource I could ever imagine!
So, after a trip to the party store, I started my first project. I picked 8 activities and blew up 8 balloons.
I put an activity in each balloon. Then I labeled the balloons with the various hours leading up to midnight.
Each hour, the boys would pop a balloon and see what the activity was for the hour.

They LOVED it!!

We started at 5 o’clock. The nice thing was if we didn’t last until midnight, they could pop the balloons and do the activities on New Year’s Day. Since we were celebrating every hour, I figured we were having so much fun – it wouldn’t be SO major if we went to bed before midnight.
Here is Hagen with the 5 PM balloon.

Yep, always a teacher. We made clocks so we could change them every hour

Yeah! Party Hats!!!!

Mason’s 6 PM (changing his clock to 6 PM before he popped his balloon)

Playing a game – Tenzi! Great game, check it out!

Dizzios, another great game to check out!!

I love Hagen’s card playing glasses!

Fading a little (I think this was around 10 PM).

Daddy bought sparklers… this brightened us up!

After the sparklers, everyone was fading… so, we threw in the towel and put the boys to bed. They fell asleep fast. But, I think our party was a HUGE success!!!
Happy New Year!
