End of Season Basketball Party

We finished out our basketball season with 4-3-1.  Not too bad!

Baseball and Soccer Season–Spring 2013

We put the boys in baseball this season.  Yes, we are insane, but we are juggling soccer and baseball.  We just couldn’t give up soccer – we love our coach and our team.  If we take a season off, we lose our spots on our team.  But, the boys wanted to try baseball out… so, here we are.

One positive – Soccer season started Saturday and Baseball season doesn’t start for another month.  We started practices, but having a month of just practices will hopefully get us prepared for the chaos to ensue.

First baseball practice, 9 am.; first soccer game of the season, 11am.  Annnndddd – GO!

First day of practice was great!  We liked the coach and one of the teammates is in Hagen’s class. 

 

It was SO cold Saturday morning!  After freezing through baseball practice, we got dressed for the first soccer game in the car.

Great first game – we won 16 to 4!!!

Mason’s first tooth gone.

Well, it happened.  We were horse playing and Mason’s first tooth popped out.  I’m actually glad the first one happened at home.  It was also perfect, at first he had no idea it even happened.  When he discovered it – he was SO shocked.   

His adult tooth is growing behind his tooth he lost…

Because he lost his first tooth, he got to pick where we went out to eat – The Ranch (he loves this place) and he got to pick the ice cream place.

I just have to share – Hagen was so funny about the whole thing.  He was beyond disappointed when Mason lost his tooth.  He is SO ready to lose a tooth.  I even offered to pull one of his and he ~almost~ took me up on the offer!

Valentine’s Day

I didn’t get pictures of the boys on Valentine’s day… but I thought their Valentine’s cards and boxes were cute enough to share.

They wanted to give the girls in their classes the snickers Valentines:

They had tons of fun at their party.  Both boys got ‘love’ notes from girls in their classes.  It was SO funny to read them!!!!

Bugs Bunny and Carrots

The boys, especially M, loves Looney Tunes.  He thinks Bugs Bunny is quite the funny character.  The other day he told me he wanted a carrot.  I got one out (the baby ones in a bag) and gave it to him.  He looked at it and said, ‘No, Momma.  I want a Bugs Bunny carrot.’ 

So, when I went to the store the other day, I saw…. Bugs Bunny carrots.

They were so excited to see the Bugs Bunny carrots!  Eating them was another story. 

I think I’m going to start playing Popeye cartoons!

Movie Night

The other night, we decided to have fun family movie night. We made dinner and had build your own sundaes for dessert. 

After dessert, we took showers and got completely ready for bed.  The boys brought their beanbags, blankets and (every) stuffed animal.

Our movie was Dolphin Tale.  It was wonderful and the boys loved it!!!

100th Day of School

We celebrated the 100th day of school on Friday.  The boys had so much fun with it.  One of their activities was to dress like they are 100 years old.

Papaw and a Basketball Game

Papaw came to one of the boys’ basketball games a few weeks ago.  After the game, we went to lunch.

Loose Teeth!

We’ve noticed friends on the boys’ soccer and basketball team losing teeth.  We hear the boys coming home telling us about friends at school losing teeth and being visited by the dentist and tooth fairy at school.  We even checked their teeth a few times to see if any were loose.

But, nothing prepared me for the day (today) that I ‘just for fun’ checked Mason’s teeth and BOTH of his bottom front teeth were loose.  VERY loose.  What??  When did this happen?

As we were laughing and getting excited – Jeremy looked in his mouth and noticed his adult teeth were coming in under/behind his baby teeth. 

That’s when it hit me.  Baby teeth – adult teeth.  Oh! My baby won’t have any more baby teeth.  Wait – stop – it’s going too fast.  When they start getting their adult teeth, their little baby faces change SO much.  I’m not ready.  Seriously – I’m not ready. 

Amber took great pictures of the boys in November with their huge smiles.  I blew them up and put them in big frames and now I am so glad I did.  These will be the LAST (professional) pictures of my babies with their little baby teeth.

And thankfully they gave me some great smiles before the smiles start changing.  I’m going to need some serious chocolate to get me through this change.

A Catcher and a Hitter

For the first season we will be playing baseball.  We love our soccer team and our soccer coach --- so we just couldn’t give them up.  This season will be interesting when we try to juggle two sports.  Thankfully soccer starts (practice has already started) first and we will integrate in baseball a few weeks later.

Today, J had the boys outside practicing some of their baseball skills.  M likes to bat and H likes to throw/catch.
