Attention Grandparents...

Here are some videos to keep you satisfied:

Mason's new trick.

Hagen is our new dancing king.

More of Hagen's dancing skills... I like the end, when our other little Ham couldn't stand it anymore.

Vrroom, vroom

Splish Splash

And here are some pictures ...

Hagen loves looking at books.

I love how they will sit and watch as I read books to them. Since we are no longer on bottles, at night we have started a great routine. We get ready for bed and they drink their sippy cups while I read. They do such a great job just sitting and listening to the stories.

The boys love being anywhere they aren't allowed to be. Hagen discovered how to turn the faucet on in our bathtub. Now they think it is the greatest thing ever! (Don't worry, Jeremy is standing close ... we don't leave them like this - ever!)

Annual NICU Reunion

Today we were able to go to the Cook Children's Annual NICU Reunion. It was so great to be able to see the nurses again. We saw our favorites (minus a few that couldn't make it) and we even saw some familiar faces of nurses that took care of the boys when our primary nurses were off. The boys are still a little young, so the bounce house, huge slide, and loud music were not a favorite ... but I know in a few years it will be!!
We spotted Samantha and Shirley almost right away.

Dr. Lynch was there also!

Hagen, Samantha, Jeremy, Mason, Dr. Lynch, Shirley, and me.

I think Hagen was still afraid they might try to take a blood gas or something!

Shirley with Mason :-)

Mason with his two primaries: Samantha and Shirley. We just love them to pieces!

After a long afternoon, we were pooped!

Fun with Water

Our wonderful friend, Andrew, and his mom, Kathleen, gave us a great little Sand and Water table. I scrubbed it down and we filled it with water. The boys loved it!!! They couldn't stop laughing. Mason splashing away.
Hagen didn't care if he got water in his eyes... he closed them and kept going!
We even had to taste test the water.
After they soaked their clothes, we decided maybe it would be even more fun in just our diapers.

After the water fun, Daddy took us on a walk while Mommy fixed dinner.

Happy Birthday Peach Cobbler!

**If you are curious, feel free to ask Jeremy who Peach Cobbler is...**
So, Jeremy is turning the big 3-2 today!
Today is a day of reflection - where you have been and where you are going. Let's reflect with him.
You used to get kisses by princesses. Now you get kisses by stinky toads.
You used to get hugs by your bear.

Oh, I guess we haven't outgrown that.
You used to splash in the water.

Now you have little ones to join you.
You used to make layups (is that what they are called) in front of many people.

Now you do it on a smaller scale for your most important audience.

You used to sing for your mom and dad.Now (or in your bachelor days) you danced for the ladies. (yep, he's gonna kill me.)

Happy Birthday Baby - from your biggest fans: Leslie, Hagen and Mason :-)

Random Pictures from the Day

Since we are taking no more bottles, we really don't have a need for the boppy anymore. Oh except for playing around ~ I know he is my child and all ~ but is he not the cutest thing you ever saw ;-)Mason is not much into smiling for the camera these days... but today I had him on my lap and was making him giggle. It was hard to take the picture ~ holding the camera away from us and trying to get it to focus on us ... but we got a few good ones.
Here is one of my favorites - I cut myself out (no need for me to outshine this great picture!!).Unfortunately, I couldn't cut myself out of this one. But to me, Mason's face is priceless. The boys were a little washed out in this picture. I tried to use my photo program to improve it. Not sure it did much improving... the point is --- my favorite part of the picture ---- look behind the boys. (Do you see her? Izzie was ready for the picture!) I was able to get ONE picture of the two of them sitting beside each other and both looking at the camera. Just to give you an idea, I took 38 pictures. This is the ONLY ONE that they are sitting side by side and looking at the camera! Here we are trying to push every button on the TV. Notice Mason trying to wiggle his way in front of Hagen. He has gotten in trouble numerous times for pushing, shoving, and poking Hagen. I have a feeling when we get a timeout mat, it will have someone's bottom imprint on it! Bedtime without Jeremy used to be sooo hard. It wasn't that bad to feed both boys by myself during the day. They were hungry and ready to eat. Come 8 pm and they were tired and grouchy. Trying to feed both of them myself was a nightmare. Now that we are off bottles, it is sooo easy to put them to bed. Here we are reading our bedtime story and drinking our last bit of milk before we go to bed.

Happy 60th Birthday Paucci!

We went to Paucci and Gran's today to celebrate him turning the big 6-0! We took him some rootbeer floats. Didn't they serve those alot in the 'olden' days --- hee hee hee. (Maybe he will comment on that.)
Hagen with Mommy enjoying the nice weather outside. Daddy trying with all his might to get Mason to enjoy the grass.
Yeah, that's not gonna work.'So, 60, huh. That's like 59 years older than me - Paucci!'
Two of my sweet boys.
Lean on me...So if Paucci is 60 - how old are you Gran?

Milestones and More

Hagen is saying the 'ba' sound again. I am trying to get him to say 'ball'. He loves playing with his red ball. We also recently gave him a beach ball and he loves that, too.

I can't get many pictures of Mason - when he sees my camera in my hands, he crawls right up to me and tries to get the camera. He is also finally saying 'Ma' and something that sounds like 'Nee'.

Finally - one cute picture before he tried to attack me to get the camera!

My little daredevil!

Huge milestones:

If you remember, Hagen was on an expensive formula - I liked to call it the 'steak' of formula. We went to whole milk a while back, but I kept giving him his formula in his last bottle at night until we used it all. And here it is .... the LAST formula bottle.

Another huge milestone: We are now bottle free! I don't think Jeremy or I ever saw this day coming!!!!! Jeremy wants to have a bottle burning party. We are entirely on sippy cups. (I'm a little sad ... don't tell Jeremy.)

"How Preemie Moms Are Chosen" by Erma Bombeck

Did you ever wonder how the mothers of premature babies are chosen?
Somehow, I visualize God hovering Earth, selecting his instruments for propagation with great care and deliberation. As he observes, he instructs his angels to take notes in a giant ledger. "Armstrong, Beth, son. Patron Saint...give her Gerard. He's used to profanity." Finally, he passes a name to an angel and smiles.
"Give her a preemie."
The angel is curious. "Why this one God? She's so happy."
"Exactly," smiles God. "Could I give a premature baby a mother who knows no laughter? That would be cruel."
"But does she have the patience?" asks the angel.
"I don't want her to have too much patience, or she'll drown in a sea of self-pity and despair. Once the shock and resentment wear off, she'll handle it. I watched her today. She has that sense of self and independence so rare and so necessary in a mother. You see, the child I am going to give her has a world of it's own. She has to make it live in her world, and that's not going to be easy."
God smiles. "This one is perfect. She has just the right amount of selfishness. "
The angel gasps, "Selfishness! Is that a virtue?"
God nods. "If she can't separate herself from the child occasionally, she will never survive. Yes, here is a woman whom I will bless with a child less than perfect. She doesn't know it yet, but she is to be envied. She will never take for granted a spoken word. She will never consider a step ordinary. When her child says momma for the first time, she will be witness to a miracle and know it. I will permit her to see cleary the things that I see - ignorance, cruelty, prejudice - and allow her to rise above them. She will never be alone. I will be at her side every minute of every day of her life because she is doing my work as surely as she is here by my side."
"But what about her Patron Saint?" asks the angel, his pen poised in the air.
God smiles.
"A mirror will suffice."
