Superman and Batman

Hagen kept telling Paucci that he could fly...

Mason wanted to show Gran his Bat-mobile.Just waiting on some trick or treaters...
Here is Paucci trying to act like an angel... yeah, right!
Here we are with my sister, Amy and cousin Conner! He was Darth Vader - Uncle Travis would be so proud ;-)
Jeremy thought it would be a good idea to take the boys to a couple of houses to Trick or Treat. We didn't have the stroller and I opted not to go. Jeremy took Mason to TWO (2) houses. He came back and said Mason was heavy. It then dawned on him what it must look like to get candy with a 7 month old - you obviously are getting the candy for yourself because the baby sure isn't going to eat it. ha ha Aren't my boys cute :-)

Can we get some more of that please?

'Bring on the grub lady, we don't have all day!'
Here we are trying carrots for the first time. It was much liquidier (is that a word??) than their rice cereal, but they still gobbled it up like they hadn't eaten in a few days!!

Do I need to say they liked it?This eatin' food it messy stuff! We should be in a Tide commercial or something?!?!
This was their second night eating carrots!
Mason sure was a neat eater his second night --- Oh no!! Don't let the picture fool you!! He loved the carrots sooo much, he started to eat his bib which in turn wiped his face clean ;-)

More Comparison Pictures

Love to do the comparison pictures... but it makes me sad - I can't believe how big they are getting!!!
3 months

7 months

These are the outfits the boys wore on their last night in the NICU or their first night home.

Here is a line up of the diapers - the far left is the first diaper they wore (not the actual - ha) and the far right one is the current diaper they are in!!

The top two diapers are the first one they wore and the most recent one side by side - to show a real comparison!!

I know they were recalled (the bumbo seats) - but just the warning label. We ordered new ones... :-)

Love those footed pajamas...

I am obsessed with Hagen's smile and laugh... can you not tell??

My Dad used to laugh so hard, he would slap his knee... I like this picture... because it reminds me of my dad. I also think they look hilarious, like little old men sitting on the front porch with no shirts on!

Mason Rolling Over - Take 2

Here is another video of Mason rolling over. I liked this one better. But he is getting faster - I barely got the camera on him in time!

Mason Rolling Over

Mason rolled over on his own - no help from any of us! I captured the second roll-over on video.

Bad Pictures

Jeremy always wonders why I take about 10 pictures just to get one. Here is why...

Hats, Hats, and More Hats

I started weeding through the boys' clothes that don't fit anymore. I didn't realize how many hats we had and how many don't really fit them anymore. Since many of them they didn't get to wear, I decided to put them on the boys to see what they would look like. I was laughing so hard, I was crying.

Sunday Fun

I tried to take a small cat nap today. I was actually starting to drift when all of a sudden I felt something on my back. Then I felt something on my side. I tried to ignore, but then I felt something on my leg. I knew I was being invaded - at this point I saw a flash - the camera displayed the evidence... Mason liked his jumper so much, Hagen convinced us he was ready... and he was!

The Boys

'I heard the new neighbors have a daughter about our age... did you get a look at her yet?'Jeremy's idea of watching the boys on Saturday so I can get some stuff done around the house is watching football. He thinks the boys really like football. I don't want to show him that they would watch the Lifetime Movie Network if we turned it on that.

Cereal, Cute Smiles, Etc.

We tried Hagen on rice cereal the other day. It basically just got all over his face. Dr. D (the pedi.) said to make it thicker. Last night I gave him thicker cereal --- he ate it ALL! Guess he likes it thicker!
1st try...

2nd try...

Continuation from "My Bubba"

So, I'm thinkin' I'm not tired, what about you?'

We got two of these contraptions ... not alot of 'supportive' doorways... so Mason tried it first.

I decided he was lonely, so Hagen got to join him. They both liked this better!

Tickle Monster Strikes Again

Hagen is sooo fun to tickle! I love his laugh and could listen to it all day long!

My Bubba

Mason loves touching his brother. He reaches out to him when he sleeps. When he is awake if they are near each other, he is usually trying to touch him. The other night, he would stick his fingers in his mouth then pull them out and rub his brother's face. I knew it wouldn't last long, so I didn't get the camera... he kept doing it. I caught some of it, but Hagen must of gotten tired of him doing it to his face, so he turned his head. I still think it is hilarious to watch!! Jeremy said it looks like Mason is trying to give Hagen a "wet willy"...

Rolling Over

The boys are getting better at rolling over. Hagen's Occupational Therapist gave me some great suggestions on things to do to help with the rolling over. I just help them move their legs. They need to work their shoulder muscles more. This helps build the shoulder muscles. Mason doesn't need much help and he can kick his leg over. Hagen is getting there. They are both doing great at getting the momentum to swing the rest of their bodies over. It is fun to watch.

This one is of Hagen.

This one is of Mason.

This is of the both of them.

Pictures, pictures, and more pictures

I had a request for more pictures... so here you are - enjoy :-)

Another Saturday Hat Day at the Johnson Household... sorry, Mason didn't get in on these :-(

Okay - is Hagen's smile not the cutest thing you ever saw?? He looks like a little boy ready for the ball game?! I forgot to check if I have posted this picture before... this isn't from yesterday... wasn't sure.Just another picture to show that Mason is still obsessed with the sun cutout thing on his exersaucer!! Tummy time, tummy time, and more tummy time!

Sleepy little angels. I love how they still reach out to each other when they sleep. (Hagen is not buried in the positioner, it is just the angle of the camera.) 'So, what's new with you.'

"How Preemie Moms Are Chosen" by Erma Bombeck

Did you ever wonder how the mothers of premature babies are chosen?
Somehow, I visualize God hovering Earth, selecting his instruments for propagation with great care and deliberation. As he observes, he instructs his angels to take notes in a giant ledger. "Armstrong, Beth, son. Patron Saint...give her Gerard. He's used to profanity." Finally, he passes a name to an angel and smiles.
"Give her a preemie."
The angel is curious. "Why this one God? She's so happy."
"Exactly," smiles God. "Could I give a premature baby a mother who knows no laughter? That would be cruel."
"But does she have the patience?" asks the angel.
"I don't want her to have too much patience, or she'll drown in a sea of self-pity and despair. Once the shock and resentment wear off, she'll handle it. I watched her today. She has that sense of self and independence so rare and so necessary in a mother. You see, the child I am going to give her has a world of it's own. She has to make it live in her world, and that's not going to be easy."
God smiles. "This one is perfect. She has just the right amount of selfishness. "
The angel gasps, "Selfishness! Is that a virtue?"
God nods. "If she can't separate herself from the child occasionally, she will never survive. Yes, here is a woman whom I will bless with a child less than perfect. She doesn't know it yet, but she is to be envied. She will never take for granted a spoken word. She will never consider a step ordinary. When her child says momma for the first time, she will be witness to a miracle and know it. I will permit her to see cleary the things that I see - ignorance, cruelty, prejudice - and allow her to rise above them. She will never be alone. I will be at her side every minute of every day of her life because she is doing my work as surely as she is here by my side."
"But what about her Patron Saint?" asks the angel, his pen poised in the air.
God smiles.
"A mirror will suffice."
