Since the boys started playing basketball, we thought it would be fun for them to see a ‘real’ game. We watched some on TV one day and their enthusiasm while we watched was enough for me to start thinking about what game we would go see. The Dallas Mavericks are close – but expensive and nose bleed seats didn’t seem to be the best idea.
SO, I thought about my alma mater. What a great idea! I was in a sorority and have several girlfriends that have all boys, too. $5 for adults and kids get in free – sounded perfect!
The morning of game day, Kathleen (my old college roommate) and I got a little *too* excited!! We both started breaking out our old Wesleyan stuff. I went through my old college photo album and told the boys all about living in the dorm. They were fascinated – some what… When Mason saw a picture of me in my cap and gown he said, ‘Do you still have this, Momma?’ Oh, yes I do!!!
My sweet little scholars!!!
At one point, Kathleen sent me a picture of her old school ID and asked if I thought it would get her in free. HA – I sent her the below picture back and said, ‘I don’t know… maybe we should try it!’
Oh man! We were have TOO much fun AND we hadn’t even left for the game yet!
We met up on campus early to show the boys around. We planned to go by the bookstore and buy shirts for the boys – but it was closed. Everyone was super bummed.
But, we went to Stella Hall, our old dorm and found our door.
The boys were not impressed at all! Yeah, we know it’s just a door… but to us it was a little more!
Who would have thought when we lived there that 14 years later we would take our 4 boys back and show them this hall and our door!! Love it!!!
Everyone wanted to climb on the ram…. and of course someone was not satisfied until he achieved his goal.
Then we met up with Kelli – a fellow alum and sister – with her 2 boys. Six boys between us – hilarious!! We had to get a picture of us in front of the Wesleyan sign.
(Yes, that is MY kid totally photo bombing the picture!!)
Our boys! Love, Love, Love!
Then the game. So funny – since we were touring the campus, we came in the back way and realized we didn’t pay. So I guess technically we were able to use our IDs to get us in free. Kelli said she paid – $550 every month, so she should get in free. HA HA HA
This was perfect! Not huge crowds and the boys could sit anywhere – for most of the game they sat all together on the front row – at times even on the floor!
This was in between periods – notice the Ram in the background doing some kind of entertainment.
She came by several times to entertain the boys… they thought she was hilarious.
It could not have gone better!! We will certainly be doing this again!!!!
Go RAMS!!!!
